What Should I Do If A Patron's ID Card Will Not Swipe?
On occasion a patron's ID card will not swipe or scan. This can happen when the mag strip has become desensitized, or the card is missing part of the mag strip.
Ask a Circulation Coordinator or a Library Aide II to assist you with this patron.
Circulation Coordinator and Library Aide II:
- treat this like a student who forgot their ID — but — do not put a message on the student's account
- click on the Circulation Desk module
- either type in the person's ID number or their name in the field that says Key or Scan Barcode
- recommend that the student go to Skiff Hall to ask about getting a new card
