What Is The Best Way To Record My Time On My Timesheet?

There seems to be some confusion about the ¼ hour on your timesheets. Here is some information that I hope will help (This for anyone who does not use a time clock to punch in).

Anything that is 7 minutes or less from the hour or half hour, you would put down that hour or half hour. For example, if you come in at 9:07 a.m., you would put down 9:00 a.m. If you come in at 9:37 a.m., you would put down 9:30 a.m. (Round to the nearest hour or half hour)

Anything that is 8 minutes or more, you would put the nearest quarter (¼) hour. For example, if you come in at 9:08 a.m., you would put down 9:15 a.m. If you come in at 9:38 a.m. or later, you would put down 9:45 a.m. (Round to the nearest ¼ hour).

Other examples:
9:45 a.m. - 9:52 a.m. = 9:45 a.m.
9:53 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. = 10:00 a.m.
9:15 a.m. - 9:22 a.m. = 9:15 a.m.
9:23 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. = 9:30 a.m.

When adding up your times you would put ¼, ½, and ¾ hours as follows …
4 ¼ hours = 4.25
4 ½ hours = 4.50
4 ¾ hours = 4.75
