Welcome
Tammy

I am Tammy Poquette, Manager of Circulation Services, for the Champlain College Library. We want to welcome you to the circulation department of the library.

It is the library's primary function to serve the students and faculty of the College community. It is our duty to assist them as much as possible in the process of seeking their desired information. At times, you may find you are unable to help a Library patron. If such is the case, seek out the help of a full-time staff member. Please remember to treat all library users as you would like to be treated, with dignity and courtesy.

PROFESSIONALISM: As a work-study student, you will have regular contact with students, faculty and staff members, parents, neighbors, alumni, college administrators and other community members. It is necessary to “put your best foot forward” and to maintain an attitude of professionalism at ALL times. In addition, work-study students are to dress as appropriately as possible (jeans are okay - if neat— would prefer clothing without holes).

RESPECT - COURTESY: It is also necessary to treat every individual, whether in person or on the telephone, with utmost respect and courtesy.

HELPFULNESS: We always try our best to help everyone that visits or telephones the Library. Until you are fully trained Library Aides, you may have a limited knowledge base to help others. Try your best to be as helpful as possible.

CONFIDENTIALITY: Every time a book is checked out to someone’s account, the information is Confidential. Do not give out account information to anyone, except the person on the account. The person must have his or her valid Champlain College ID available, before we can give out any information that is on the account. BREACHING THIS RULE IS GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF YOUR WORK-STUDY CONTRACT.

If you have any questions about any of the above information, or about the Library, please speak with the Manager of Circulation Services.
