Job Responsibilities:
Master and know all aspects of the library’s circulation policies and procedures.
Edit Patron's Accounts to Add a Message
Edit Patron's Accounts to Delete Messages
Learn Closing Procedures
Learn Opening Procedures
Make Course Reserves Activate
Make Course Reserves Inactivate
Mentor or Train any New Library Aides Working During Your Shift
Must Answer the Wiki Question of the Week
Must Be Available to Meet on Mondays at from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. (We will not meet every Monday)
Place Holds on Books
Recall Books
Shift Books
Take on Projects When Asked
Tests Will Be Given to Prove Knowledge and Ability
Job Experience and Requirements:
Must have one to two full academic years of experience working for the Champlain College Library Circulation Department (students with only one year must show exemplary skills and knowledge to be considered for the promotion).
Proven Knowledge of All Our Policies and Procedures
Proven Knowledge of the Library Automated System
Successfully Answers Questions From the Quizzes
Goes Above and Beyond the Daily Work Expected of a Library Aide
Confidentiality is a Must
A Library Aide II who does not master all that is expected will be asked to return to be a Library Aide.
A Library Aide II who excels in the position may be promoted to the Library Aide III Position (Information about this position is coming soon).
Pay rate is $9.60 an hour.
